Peace March Supporting The Smoking Ban In Public Places
The Public Notice GSR 417E -'Smoking Banned in Public Place' was issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India which was effective from 2nd October 2008. So,VHAI-Aparajita, Orissa organized a Peace March to support this initiative of Government of India on the date of implementation of the notice i.e. 2nd October 2008. There was participation from different action groups. Principal Secretary Water Resources, Special Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Team Leader, United Nation Development Programme, celebrities, representatives from media, civil society organizations, students, house wives and children participated in this March. The March started from Forest Park and was concluded at Indiragandhi Park with a Signature campaign. Through this peace March Aparajita hope for effective implementation of COTPA in the state.
